And really I’m not enough of a Who fan to be that invested in the show’s direction…

And I’m sure Jenna-Louise Coleman will be good…

But I am seriously so pressed that Amara Karan is not the new companion. Considering all the chemistry her character, Rita, had with the Doctor in The God Complex and that her supposed death happened off-screen, I was convinced she was going to be cast in that role. I really appreciated how smart Rita was, and I thought Karan was charming.

The reason I’m posting this is because of the great commentary going on here on Doctor Who’s diversity issues. There’s a neat post with some more companion picks here, some of which already exist in the Whoverse. Since she’s leaving Misfits, I’m also throwing Antonia Thomas’ name out there.

Anyhow, I’ll just be over here daydreaming about Chiwetel Ejiofor as 12 with Karan back from the dead and Mark Sheppard’s Canton Delaware as his companions.

I KNOOOOW. I want Rita!!!
